Taking Care

Catching up a bit from a slow blogging week last week... I made a deal with Kirsten last weekend to start taking better care of myself. You know -- the basics... Stop taking 2-3 helpings at mealtimes, cut out the bad snacks, increase the physical activity, etc. So far, so good -- I've done really well over the last week (with a couple of minor exceptions), exercising four nights on the recumbent bike, cutting back to one controlled helping (of healthier foods) and drastically cutting back on the unhealthy stuff... The results in one week have been a general increase in stamina and a loss of 3+ pounds. Not bad!

Of course, this isn't all just for fun or forward thinking (as much as I'd like to say it is). It doesn't hurt that Kirsten promised me a Zune of my choice if I drop 15 pounds! 20% there already! :)

Ah yes, the manipulations of women...how is it they always lull us into gadgets, blinding us to the reality of the purpose behind the gadget: MORE EXERCISE ;) Worked for me 2 years ago with the iPod. I can say I'm down over 20 lbs from that point, 12 of which have come off in the last 2 months. Good luck J
