King for a Day

I have the greatest family ever... Fatherhood is special for so many reasons, but my family really went over the top to make Father's Day a priceless memory for me yesterday. First, I woke up to a warm breakfast downstairs that K and O had cooked. They showered me with gifts, including a cool ceramic M&M bowl for my desk, some wonderful framed art, coupons for services, more art for my desk, and a new tie. We got the boys ready for church, and they were almost completely cooperative. ;) Then, after church, they let me take a nap on the beanbag chair for about two hours while the sunshine streamed in the window... Oh so nice... We then sat outside and ate popsicles while we called our dads to wish them a happy Father's Day. I was also able to redeem one of my coupons from D for a 20-minute back/shoulder massage. And, when I told him his time was up, he said, "That's ok" and kept going!!! :) Bedtime wasn't a problem, and I ended the day feeling like a king.

I know that pulling something like that off doesn't happen on its own, so thank you to my wonderful wife and to my three awesome boys. I'm so grateful to be their dad -- I count that as one of my greatest blessings in this life...
