Rainier Walk

We went on a drive and short walk today at Mt. Rainier National Park. It's amazingly less than 90 minutes away! Why did we never take advantage of this before??? Such a beautiful place! Following are a few pictures from the day...

Me and the boys - S, O and D...

O got tired... From what I hear, it's payback from when I was little and complained about walking around Green Lake. ;)

K leading the pack along a nice easy little walk with amazing views!

Like I said, amazing views of Mt. Rainier. Gave me a chance to try out the polarizing filter from my mom.

Another view...

Sunset Stitch

Here's a panorama of that same evening. To create this, I stitched three photos together using Windows Live Photo Gallery. Yah, the right end of the shot is less exposed than the rest, but for a quick and easy stitch (you just select the photos you want to stitch and click "create panaramic photo"), the Photo Gallery does an awesome job, I think.

Beautiful Sunset

I was just going back through our pictures from the summer and found this one of a stunning sunset out our back door a couple weeks ago. Check out the swirling clouds on the horizon... If only I had my D80 that night... ;-)

Chopping O's Hair

While I don't aspire to be a hair stylist by any means, I have to say that I take pride in giving my boys haircuts that are even and even somewhat stylish at times. That said, I can't actually cut D's hair right now, because he likes his to be longer than I can cut with the clippers (which is the only way I can cut confidently).

As you can see above, O has been long overdue for a haircut for a while now, and I finally made the time to wrestle him down and give him a chop while K was gone Saturday morning (she has a harder time hearing him cry when he doesn't want to get a haircut). I must say, it's probably one of the best cuts I've given one of my boys. Here are a couple photos:

Day on the River

After stake conference today and some "quiet time" (interpret - a nap), we headed down to Auburn to a park on the river to take part in one of the boys' favorite activities -- throwing rocks. ;) Aside from being knocked in the knee by one of O's randomly flying projectiles, it was a good time. I finally remembered to bring the camera with us as well, so I have some photos to share.

D took this one of me and K. I totally had to fight the urge to edit out the weight I've put on in the last few years... Ugh...

More to come...
