Happy Birthday, O!

O turned 3 yesterday, and we celebrated by going to Woodland Park Zoo. He's been talking about going to the zoo for the last month, and it was a blessing that it turned out to be a beautiful day. The zoo was packed, as they had a ton of Easter egg hunts, but once we got outside the egg hunt area, it turned out that the crowds weren't so bad. We all had fun, and most of the animals were out and about -- we actually got to see a few of them abnormally close-up.

Happy Birthday O!! Looks like a fantastic day at the Zoo, what fun :) I'd like to use my dumb question for the day..is that a bear in the last pic? I dont think I have ever seen a brown bear in the water at the zoo..

It's a grizzly. And yes - they play in the water. There were actually two of them wrestling around in the water, bumping up against the window. It drew quite a crowd. We had to wait our turn to get to the front of the crowd for a good view.

what a great day. I'm fascinated by bears. On our last trip to Yellowstone I was determined to see a bear, but didn't expect one to cuddle up to our tent in the middle of the night. YIKES! Cute kids, you have there.

Woodland Park Zoo is a family favorite of ours. Whenever we're in town we make it a priority to go to the zoo, along with the waterfront (Ivar's especially). Happy B-Day O.
