3 Weeks... Sheesh...

What a slacker I've been! Nearly three weeks without a post... I am still alive. Trying to wrap up my work in my current rotation at Microsoft, so I can move cleanly on to my next with a solid plan for how to move my work forward after I'm gone...

The fam's doing well... D and S are finishing out the school year. It's weird to think it's almost summer when we're still battling temperatures in the 50s half the time! :(

I'm reading a couple of interesting books lately -- The Holy Secret, by James Ferrel, and Finite & Infinite Games, by James Carse -- both thought-provoking in very different ways. I've also got quite a lineup of books waiting to be read once I'm done with these two...

I'll put a placeholder here for a couple of things I want to write about when get a few spare minutes:
  • Thoughts from the two books above (personal)
  • Work I've been doing in the yard (home)
  • Thoughts about benchmarking (work)
  • Following your heart (work/personal)
  • Having the "big discussion" with my boys before they hear it in the "maturation program" at school (home)
  • The kids' new RipStik (home) ;)

OK -- there you go. If you care to know anything about any of these things, keep pestering me until I write about them. Until then...

Not that I want to know, but good luck with "THE TALK" with your boys. I'll need some pointers when our time comes, so let us know how it goes...lol

Hi Jason,
I have that book by James Ferrell, but haven't read it yet either; I loved his other book about forgiveness..."The Peacegiver" I think it's called. I can't believe your boys are old enough to have "the talk!" Good luck! I was wondering if you might have access to the addresses for everyone in Kirsten's family; I don't know if Mareen has them with her, and I hate to bother her. I thought you might have them on your computer. I am sending out wedding invites for Russ; if you could help me out that would be great! Thanks! Aunt Dawn

A good book is "Where Do Babies Come From?" by Brad Wilcox. The content is relative, straightforward and vague enough to not go overboard. You can just about take it in any direction you feel comfortable with. The draw for us in using it with S was it broke things down from a spiritual perspective and spelled out the need for personal purity while explain how important sexual reproduction among married couples is in carrying forward God's plan for us.

Good luck!
