Finger Fly

This weekend, I went on part of the super activity with our young men to Olympic National Park. I had to take off early to be back to work today and thought I'd take in a little flyfishing on my way out of the park. Unfortunately, I had a little mishap before I got to actually fish. Thought I'd share...

The nice doctor at Clini-Care in Port Angeles got it out for me and taught me how to do it next time. Fun stuff...

ouch. what kind of a fly is that? what did you plan on catching? B uses lots of elk caddis, red midgies and wooly buggers. Because this is a family blog, I won't begin to tell you the jokes I have to crack when he starts talking about those last 2. Anyway, the fly fishing is grand over in our neck of the woods!

I believe it's a stonefly pattern, but I'm not real great at identifying my flies yet, as I'm pretty new to the flyfishing thing still... :) Still, didn't stop me from catching a ton on the river tonight!!! I stopped counting at 10. Made up for last night... ;)

And yeah - I know the fishing in your neck of the woods is great! I'm flying in to Idaho Falls on Aug. 6th to meet up with my family and go to the cabin in Ashton. We'll be doing some fishing on the Henry's Fork while we're there for sure!

will you be having burgers at Big Juds? Is that the right name? The river has been raging most of the summer so B hasn't been out at all--yet!

I've heard of that place! ;) We typically eat all our meals at the cabin, though, so not sure I'll make it this time...
